Michael George Carl is an SVU task force officer whose entire career emphasis is internet crimes against children. He signed the first six search warrants in the Charlie Kirk assassination case at 3:19 PM on September 10, 2025. The warrants covered Tyler Robinson's phone, Google server location data, cell towers around UVU, George Zinn's phone, Charlie Kirk's belongings at Timpanogos Hospital, Intermountain Health surveillance footage, and Matt and Amber Robinson's house. The question of why an SVU and ICAC-focused officer signed the first warrants in an assassination investigation, rather than homicide detectives, is an open thread.
