Paul Steed
Role
Father of abuse survivors, advocate for 2006 Idaho law
Bio Notes
Paul Steed is the father of Ben and Adam Paul Steed of Pocatello, Idaho. After his sons were molested by scoutmaster Bradley Stowell at Camp Little Lemhi in 1997, he moved the family to St. Louis under pressure and returned to lobby for the 2006 Idaho law eliminating the criminal statute of limitations for child sexual abuse. The law, which included an emergency clause, was signed by Governor Kempthorne in March 2006 and sponsored by Representatives Donna Boe and Debbie Field. The law was not retroactive, meaning it could not help the Steed family's own case. Band: Documented (court record, legislative record).
